This multi-story porch reconstruction project involves complete removal of the existing porch structure and porch roof, followed by installation of a new structural porch system for a multi-unit residential building. Project Details and Process
Work began with securing required building permits and installing vertical access and shoring systems to safely support demolition and rebuilding operations.
To maintain safe access and construction sequencing, first-floor hardscape and privacy fencing are being temporarily relocated and will be reinstalled once structural work is complete. The property owner coordinated temporary relocation of tenant belongings from the second- and third-floor porches during demolition and reconstruction.
The existing porch structure and porch roof are being fully removed and replaced with a newly constructed structural porch assembly. As part of the project, two walking surface options for the second and third floors were presented for owner selection.
This approach ensures full structural replacement rather than incremental repair.
Results of the Project
This structural porch replacement project is currently in progress, with projected completion in Spring 2026.
Upon completion, the building will benefit from a fully reconstructed structural porch system replacing the original multi-level assembly through complete demolition and rebuild.
